Full-Day Nuuksio National Park Tour From Helsinki

We were fortunate to 'find' Mikko (Finnish Friend) during our recent week's visit to Helsinki. We wanted to see something of the natural beauty of the locality and we were just thrilled with our day's walk in Nuuksio National Park. The arrangements were just first class in every respect, from collecting us from our hotel, driving us safely to the Park and ensuring that we had everything we could possibly have needed for the walk. It helps of course that Mikko is totally committed to his work, and that his enthusiasm and love of the outdoors makes him a very endearing and interesting guide. We learnt so much about the nature around us, but we also had the opportunity over the day to ask him about many aspects of Finnish life. He makes for easy company, and he 'pitched' the walk at a pace which was ideal for us. The wood chopping and fire making at the lunch stop was an added bonus, and although we weren't very confident, he was very encouraging! Lunch was a feast, we had no idea he had carried so many supplies...and he had even brought fresh milk for the coffee - just marvellous!We enjoyed all our days in Helsinki, Porvoo and Turku - but honestly the hike with Mikko was without doubt the highlight for us both, treasured memories of a very happy day amidst beautiful scenery and good company.If you get the opportunity, just book with Mikko, you will be assured of a very special time.

I booked a day hike to the Nuuksio park and I am completely satisfied. This isn’t a typical guided tour lasting a few hours, but a real journey inside the nature. Mikko is a very prepared guide and the tour is very instructive; he knows the types of plants and animals present in the Finnish territory and explains their characteristics in detail. During the tour we chopped the firewood and cooked the food (together!) for the lunch. With Mikko you learn how to behave in a forest and the deep respect for nature.
